Freaky Friday

Gosh do you ever have one of those dreams that makes you wake up and you realize that you are really bugged about something and it's going to keep you awake. I had one of those and started my day at 4:30 am. Just could not get back to sleep. Posting layouts seemed to be a useful way to spend my time.

Windy Wednesday

Ok this is a bit long. But I had to get it out!

It's been really really windy for two days now. I Actually had the starts of a heart attack going when the tornado siren went off this afternoon...oh yeah! It is located just behind the fence behind the house. The noise itself will cause a sane person to run towards insanity!!!! So it goes off and I do a quick plan in my head on how I am going to get two kids, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and hamsters all in the bathroom at the same time. Well as luck has it, the city was just testing their alarms. But I am adventurous (on the verge of insane!), we were bored so I thought it would be great fun to do a little test run to see just what it would take to get my loved ones and their pets to safety. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. It was an adventure for sure.

So I decide the bathroom downstairs (you know the one that is just a tad bit larger than those on an airplane!!!)is the place....I am thinking it's inside, no windows, this has got to be the best place there is right??? In case of tornado....Remember, we are testing the plan!!

So I open the backdoor to get the 3 outside dogs in.....Easy Right??? No, not easy at all. I put the mastif in and all is good. Matilda is really such a big goofy sweetheart. She lays down immediately and I realize hmmmmm well that doesn't leave much space. But I am determined to win this battle. Next in line, is the English Bulldog. I ended up chasing her around the table in the living room, through the kitchen, around the island and back to the living room and got no where near getting her in the bathroom.....in the meantime the 1 year old has let the Mastif out of the bathroom. So my plan is going no where fast. So I thought hmmmm maybe if I start with the smallest and work my way up it will work. So in go the hamsters, snoodle the poodle, and the cats......Yippee!!! I am making progress!!!!

Ummmm did someone say Hamsters and cats in the same little tiny airplane size bathroom???? Oh yes, suddenly there is a crash and hissing and barking and complete mayhem in the bathroom. I open the door and all the animals come rushing out at me....yes even the hamsters. And well it was like the old farmer in the dell song phsyco style come to life. The grandma chases the dog, the dog chases the cat, the cat chases the other cat, the other cat chases the hamsters and the two year girl that I swear has the loudest set of crying pipes in the world is screaming at the top of her lungs that someone is going to die.... I am trying to quiet her by screaming back it's ok I'll get them....I won't let them die...as i am crawling under the table to catch the hamster.

The crying is getting louder (who would believe that it possibly could?)! I crawl out from under the table and go to her....humans are more important....Right??? I find her at the doorway of the bathroom hanging on to the leg of her brother who is sitting (sort of?) in the toilet splashing and laughing and flushing and well just having a good ol time. Of course, Sissy is saving his life by hanging on to his leg...right??

So now my safety plan has turned into a recovery and clean up plan. I remove baby boy from the toilet, I give fluids (juice) to the 2 year old girl who is slowly recovering from her total melt down, I find the hamsters and place them in their pink palace. And now it's time to clean up all the water.

I grab towels and head to this tiny little-not much bigger than an airplane bathroom to mop up the water. While I'm down on all fours wiping behind the throne I feel some feet on my legs and look back to see matilda (the mastif) making herself at home on my feet. I am in the process of turning around and getting her off my feet when in walks the english bulldog and wouldn't you know he finds himself a spot on the other side of the throne. Yes indeed, one by one the animals and the little humans join me in this little tiny spot in the house. I wiggle my way around because you know there is not much space left in this room. I pick up 2 year old baby girl who is giggling at our adventure now, and then I pick up little boy baby and I sit down on the throne and take a minute to reflect on what I just learned. Suddenly, 2 year old baby girl laughs and says "Again Grannie Again" which is what she says when she wants me to restart a movie. SIGH!!

Update: One hour and 10 minutes later. Grandma is found snuggled warmly on the couch with boy and girl babies, dogs are back outside, cats are sleeping in the corner, hamsters are buried under in their palace just in time for Parent Number 1- Mom to walk in the door.
"How was your day?" she asks
"Same as usual" I calmly reply

There are just some things a parent never needs to know....Right???

Ok and now on to some layouts.

Gotta tell ya that I love love love Faith True Kits. They are always so unique and always spark me to create some fun layouts. Like this one. Created because of that one piece of word art in her new Baby it's you word art set!!! I totally love the word art set and this layout!
Oh oh oh Natali's Dream kit is just soooo gorgeous and so cool to play with!
and another one using a gorgeous baby kit and that same word art set from Faith True
And Nina's little winter kit she has for a featured designer challenge at Oscraps
And I am just tickled to say that this layout is published in the Artisan's guild Mag this month!!! Whooo hooo!! Love it!!
Hope you all are staying warm and have had a calm and relaxing day!!!

Mad Monday

Well Thank goodness Monday is almost over....Whew! What a day. Not a bad day really. Just one of those I really don't care to be repeating again. And of course it is day two of our challenge and I did my layouts for today. One is for a ct assignment and can't be posted but it's with an adorable kit by one of my fav designers...

This one I pulled from my stash of stuff i need to use and i actually put alot of effort into keeping it really clean and simple.....so not my style at all!!!

and well this one is just a jumbled up mess with my head in the clouds which seems to be where i have been spending a great deal of time lately. Not sure that it's really love that i am admitting to but none the less it certainly has scrambled up my brains lately. Ok so maybe they were a bit scrambled to begin with but the bottom line its a mess and so is this funky layout!!
So glad that it is time to call this day done. Hope you all had a pleasant one. And Tina, I'll get you the info you asked for very soon......well ok, you might have to remind me again!!!!

Bad Blogger and a challenge

ok I so am not a good blogger. But I am going to work on it. So to make myself be a better person/scrapper I have asked my friend Dawn to join me in a challenge. I scrap often for the designers I ct for and usually let the freebies/purchased kits sit and not get used much. So my challenge to myself and Dawn is to create a layout using freebie/purchased items every day I scrap. Most likely won't happen but I am going to give it a shot. Also going to try to make myself post layouts i do here everyday. I'm going to just randomly pick some I've done in the past or they may be current but i'm shooting for a posting a day.

Now, if i can only pull my heads out of the clouds (great date last night!!!!) a bit and get settled into scrapping before the day slips away. I'll be back with some layout posts a bit later

Stop the Pounding

Cold medicine and I are not exactly a great combination. I had such a smasher of a headache and all the symptoms of a head cold so a dosed myself up with some "this will cure it all" medicine before crawling in bed last night. I am usually one of those jump right out of bed and get the day started kind of people but today I woke up with such a loud constant pounding in what I thought was my medicated head. Turns out that the neighbor next door is having his roof replaced-thus the pounding or hammering......and my head is quite normal.......well, ha ha ha normal for me!!! Just a little groggy and medicated today though.

I got some layouts done this week and thought i would start posting them here. Yep, I think that is what I am suppose to be doing...in no particular order and you can click the photos to go to DST for full credits and store info.

This was for my friend Dawn. Such beautiful photos of her Daughters wedding. I used Joanne Bain's (Doin It Digi) Sublime kit and Agnieszkag's word art. This one got LOTD at 3S!!!

and this is my submission for waterlo projects challenge. I think I used something from about every kit they have on their blog.

And this is Caidence all dressed up for Halloween. A rush costume change after she watched the Annie Movie the weekend before Halloween!! I used Faith True's kit Tabloid Hush from Shabby Pickle Designs.

And little Tainen just had to be GI Joe. Perfect costume and such a wonderful little sotry on this layout. I use Tangie baxters pieces of A walk in the park and Tree Top kits.

I so love playing with Faith True's designs. So I used her brand new Sun Rays & Rosy Days kit from Shabby Pickle Designs

And another one of my favorite Designers is Laura Burger and for this one I used her Blue Awakening kit from ACOT and Gotta Pixel.

Ok that is about enough layouts for today don't ya think. I've got some more stored up for tomorrow!!
Enjoy your day!!!
